Red Wings' Dan Renouf: Reassigned Tuesday

Renouf was reassigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Tuesday.

Analysis:

The young defenseman's demotion comes just one day after he made his NHL debut against the Hurricanes on Monday. With Niklas Kronwall (knee) ready to step into the lineup, Renouf was forced to make way. The former University of Maine Black Bear doesn't have great offensive abilities (15 points in 58 games with Grand Rapids), but he could find a home in the NHL as a solid defender with good size.
