Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy: Starting in net Friday
Vasilevskiy will patrol the blue paint for Friday night's game in Detroit, Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Analysis:
Vasilevskiy is riding a three-game losing streak during which he's posted a .855 save percentage and allowed four goals in each of the starts. Perhaps sitting Thursday will provide some motivation for the young goalie -- Vasilevskiy has recorded wins with just one goal allowed in his last two starts after sitting the previous night. He also has the advantage of facing a Red Wings squad that hasn't performed well at home this season, averaging just 2.40 goals per game.
