Flames' Matthew Tkachuk: Suspended for two games

Tkachuk was handed a two-game ban Monday for his elbow to the face of the Kings' Drew Doughty on Sunday.

The NHL was swift in issuing its discipline to the rookie, who unleashed a vicious elbow in the first period of what ended up as a 5-2 victory for the Flames. The 19-year-old will sit out a pair of what should be difficult contests, first against the Capitals on Tuesday then versus the Predators on Thursday. Tkachuk will be eligible to return Saturday in St. Louis.
