Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Big year continues

Malkin netted his 11th power-play goal Monday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Calgary.

Analysis:

Since returning from a seven-game absence, Malkin has ripped off 11 goals and 18 points in 14 contests. He's also registered eight of his season's 25 blocked shots in the last three games. Of course, Pittsburgh likely prefers the Art Ross contender to take shots, not get in front of them, but his impassioned play bodes well down the stretch. Malkin's 33 goals already represent his fourth-highest total in 11 seasons, and there are still 14 games remaining.
