Kings' Jake Muzzin: Hit with embellishment fine
Muzzin was fined $2,000 for embellishment Friday, Tom Gulitti of NHL.com reports.
Analysis:
This infraction, also known as "diving," is assessed when a player falls down to deliberately get the attention of an official with hopes of drawing a penalty. Muzzin reportedly received a warning for doing this in a game against the Flyers on Oct. 14 and then he broke the rule again in last Saturday's home match with Vancouver. His fine will increase by $1,000 for each subsequent embellishment call, and even Kings coach Darryl Sutter could be docked if the defenseman repeats the offense five or more times.
