Capitals' Braden Holtby: Lackluster in loss

Holtby allowed four goals on just 24 shots in a 4-2 loss to the Sharks on Thursday.

Analysis:

That's back-to-back stinkers for the Holtbeast, who hasn't been himself recently in surrendering a whopping seven goals on his last 35 shots. He was pulled his last time out against Dallas, so Thursday's clunker in San Jose wasn't exactly a confidence booster. Still, Holtby is a world class netminder and a perennial Vezina candidate -- as his .928 save percentage, 1.97 GAA and 34 wins will attest -- so owners shouldn't worry too much about his recent hiccups. It would be wise, however, to plan for the Saskatchewan native to sit out a start or two in favor of backup Philipp Grubauer, especially with the postseason right around the corner.
