Penguins' Patric Hornqvist: Diagnosed with concussion

Hornqvist, who was a last-minute scratch for Wednesday's game against Winnipeg, has been sent back to Pittsburgh to undergo further evaluation for a concussion.

Analysis:

The Penguins still have four games remaining in their current five-game road trip, and head coach Mike Sullivan wasn't willing to rule Hornqvist out of the remainder of the trip after Wednesday's tilt, but it seems likely that the veteran winger will miss at least a few contests after heading back to Pittsburgh for further testing. More information regarding a timetable for Hornqvist's return should be released in the coming days.
