Analysis:

The tone was set early, as NHL points leader Connor McDavid put one past Mrazek less than two minutes into the contest with a slick backhand. The Czech goalie has been keeping the Wings in close games, but the offensive firepower hasn't been there consistently and the departure of Thomas Vanek -- who had been leading the team in points per game -- at the trade deadline likely isn't going to help matters. Mrazek's record now stands at 15-17-7 along with a 2.97 GAA and .902 save percentage.
