Devils' Cory Schneider: Confirmed starter against Bruins

Schneider was designated as Saturday's road starter versus the Bruins, Andrew Gross of The Record reports.

Analysis:

New Jersey's chief puck plugger hasn't won since Feb. 18, spanning four starts. He's only reeled off a pair of shutouts this season to go along with a similarly lackluster 2.64 GAA and .914 save percentage. Boston is a terrific faceoff team and averages 33.8 shots per game -- that's good for second in the NHL -- so Schneider could be in store for a long evening if his team can't keep the puck in the attacking zone. There are 10 games Saturday, so don't hesitate to pivot away from Schneider in daily settings if you have concerns about his level of play this year.
