Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Will not play Thursday

Oshie (upper body) officially has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Devils, JJ Regan of CSN MId-Atlantic reports.

Analysis:

Oshie likely won't be able to return to game ice until he's able to take line rushes on the power-play unit in a practice session or two. There's no outright replacement for a guy of Oshie's caliber -- he's an accurate sniper with 43 points (24 goals, 19 assists) in 50 games this season -- but the Caps have called up Paul Carey as a reinforcement option, at least on the fourth line. Oshie's next chance to play will come Saturday, when the Caps have a home tilt against the Flyers.
