Blackhawks' Patrick Kane: Stays scorching with second hat trick in three games

Kane scored three goals in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.

Analysis:

Kane was having a relatively uneventful outing by his standards until he potted two goals in the final 3:08 to complete his second hat trick of the season and fourth of his career. His empty-netter with 41 seconds left was nothing to scoff at, as Kane lifted a backhander from the boards past two Pittsburgh defenders while skating almost along the goal line. Both of Kane's hat tricks have come in the past three games, and he has 12 goals and seven assists over his past 11. The 2016 Art Ross Trophy winner is suddenly just four back of Connor McDavid for the league lead in points.
