Kings' Ben Bishop: Suffers loss in Kings debut

Bishop allowed two goals on 30 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 overtime loss against the Flames.

Analysis:

Bishop was outstanding in his team debut but the offense wasn't able to break through against his counterpart Brian Elliott. The rental came over from the Lightning as insurance for the postseason, as Jonathan Quick missed 59 games due to a groin injury. Los Angeles is unlikely to overwork Quick after such a lengthy layoff and the Kings are likely to try and get their money's worth out of Bishop. A 50-50 split for the short term would not be surprising.
