Avalanche's Calvin Pickard: Returning to lineup Tuesday

Pickard (neck) will be available to back up Jeremy Smith for Tuesday night's road matchup with the Flyers, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports.

Analysis:

Despite being healthy enough to see game action, Pickard will take a back seat to Smith on Tuesday night as the rookie goes for his second career NHL victory. Pickard has seen a lot of action ever since Semyon Varlamov (groin) went down for the season, so perhaps a little time to rest on the bench will be beneficial for the 24-year-old.
