Canucks' Troy Stecher: Contracts mumps during bye week

Stecher has been diagnosed with mumps, meaning he is unlikely to suit up for Saturday's contest with the Sharks.

Analysis:

While Stecher has the only confirmed case of mumps on the team so far, Chris Tanev, Nikita Tryamkin, Mike Chaput, and Markus Granlund have all displayed symptoms of the virus as well. The 22-year-old has been a staple on the Vancouver blue line all season, both at full strength and on the power play, so hopefully he's able to return soon.
