Capitals' Andre Burakovsky: Winds up on IR

Burakovsky (hand) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

Analysis:

The up-and-coming winger has avoided a long-term IR designation -- which would require that he misses 10 games and 24 calendar days -- but he's still expected to be out until mid-March. Washington has filled his roster spot with Thursday's call-up of Riley Barber from AHL Hershey, but he has yet to make his NHL debut and thus isn't a viable fantasy option.
