Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Could play Thursday

Clutterbuck (lower body) may be able to lace up the skates Thursday in Montreal, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Clutterbuck had just returned from a lower-body injury that forced him to miss nine of the previous 10 games, so it seems likely that Tuesday's injury was an aggravation of that ailment. The Islanders play their next eight games on the road, but they only have two games in the next eight days and could elect to hold Clutterbuck out of the lineup until March 2 in Dallas in order to give him as much time as possible to get 100 percent healthy.
