Kings' Jeff Zatkoff: Placed on waivers
Zatkoff was waived by Los Angeles on Wednesday, Chris Johnston of Sportsnet reports.
Analysis:
The Kings are taking the first step toward making room on the 23-man roster for Jonathan Quick (groin) by placing Zatkoff on waivers. If the 29-year-old clears, Los Angeles will then be able to move him down to the AHL once Quick is given the all-clear. A career backup, the Detroit native may not garner a lot of interest from other teams, as he owns a 2-7-1 record with a 2.95 GAA.
