Canadiens' Carey Price: Hangs tough for shootout win over Rangers

Price stopped 28 of 30 shots en route to a 3-2 shootout victory against the Rangers on Tuesday.

Analysis:

Price's diving denial of a J.T. Miller shot just as time was running out in overtime was proof that the bye-week rest did him good. Even "mediocre" is a charitable term to describe Price's play over the last two-plus months, but he rose to the occasion in this Original Six matchup, delivering just his second win in his last seven starts. Indeed, it's been a tale of two seasons for the B.C. native, who went 16-3-2 with a .940 save percentage over his first 21 games; over 24 outings since then, he's just 9-12-3 with an .899 save mark. Price hasn't held the opposition under two goals since Jan. 24, and his last shutout came in the middle of November.
