Blues' Ivan Barbashev: Demoted to minors

Barbashev was sent down to AHL Chicago on Tuesday.

Analysis:

Barbashev appeared in 12 contests during his first stint in an NHL lineup, logging two goals and one assist in 10:53 of ice time -- not a bad start for the second-round pick out of the QMJHL. The 21-year-old returns to the AHL, where he has managed 37 points in 45 outings this year. Given his raw scoring ability, the center may be worth stashing in deeper dynasty/keeper leagues.
