Maple Leafs' Frederik Gauthier: Recalled Tuesday

Gauthier was recalled from the Toronto Marlies of the AHL on Tuesday.

Analysis:

The 2013 first-round pick's recall coincided with rookie sensation Mitch Marner (upper body) landing on injured reserve. Gauthier will center the Leafs' fourth line Tuesday against Winnipeg, replacing Ben Smith in the lineup. In 18 games with the Maple Leafs in 2016-17, Gauthier has averaged less than 10 minutes on the ice, recording three points in the process.
