Islanders' Cal Clutterbuck: Won't play Saturday

Clutterbuck (lower body) won't play Saturday versus the Devils, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Clutterbuck was one of the few Islanders to participate in an optional skate Saturday which would seem to indicate he is close to returning to the lineup. After the home game Sunday, the Islanders will embark on a nine-game road trip which will go a long way towards deciding their chances of making the playoffs. If Clutterbuck isn't able to play Sunday, then Tuesday in Detroit would seem to be when he will return to his fourth line role.
