Sabres' Derek Grant: Moves to IR

Analysis:

Based on the NHL's rules for retroactivity as it pertains to seven-day IR, Grant will be eligible to return Feb. 25 for a road game against the Avalanche -- the Sabres will be off until then anyway due to the bye. A product of Michigan State University, Grant is still looking for his first NHL goal, despite appearing in 86 career contests between the Senators, Flames, Predators and Sabres.
