Flames' Matt Bartkowski: Inks permanent deal
Bartkowski agreed to terms on a two-year, two way deal with the Flames on Thursday, Kristen Odland of Postmedia reports.
Analysis:
Just a day after signing a professional tryout agreement, Bartkowski penned a deal with Calgary. With the expansion draft coming this summer, some teams are in a crunch to find players that meet the requirements for being eligible for selection. The 28-year-old will fill that gap for the Flames, which could give him the chance to showcase his abilities and earn a spot with the Golden Knights. In the meantime, the signing puts Calgary over the 23-man roster limit, so the team will need to send somebody down to the minors, with Brett Kulak the leading candidate.
