Blues' Jake Allen: NHL's second star of the week

Allen was named the league's No. 2 star for the week ending Feb. 12, Tom Timmerman of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. He went 3-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .967 save percentage.

Analysis:

The recognition comes less than a month after Allen's job as the Blues' starting goalie was in peril. He survived getting pulled from three consecutive starts and being left home for a road trip to reclaim the top spot in net. New coach Mike Yeo credits Allen's renewed confidence as the prime factor, but the new defensive scheme in front of the goalie has also helped.
