Chiarot's move to IR is retroactive to his last game played six days ago, with his next chance to return coming Jan. 21 against the visiting Blues. This transaction also allowed the Jets -- losers of four straight games -- to recall netminder Ondrej Pavelec from AHL Manitoba.
