Sharks' Logan Couture: Leaves Wednesday's game due to injury

Couture exited Wednesday's game against the Senators in the third period with an undisclosed injury, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Analysis:

Couture sustained the injury when Ottawa's Mike Hoffman delivered a cross-check to the back of his head in front of the Sharks' net. Hoffman received a five-minute major penalty and was ejected from the game for his actions, and he may be hearing from the NHL's Department of Player Safety ahead of Ottawa's matchup with New jersey on Saturday. Sharks head coach Peter DeBoer didn't have an update on Couture's status after Wednesday's contest, but the team should release more information regarding the pivot's availability ahead of Friday's game against the Canadiens.
