Blackhawks' Jonathan Toews: Traveling with team

Toews (back) will travel with the team for its upcoming road trip to New York, Eric Lear of Blackhawks TV reports.

Analysis:

The Blackhawks will play both New York teams on this trip -- the Rangers on Tuesday and the Isles on Thursday. The fact that Toews is traveling is certainly a good sign but he remains on injured reserve. Since Chicago is currently under the 23-man roster limit, they can activate the center without having to make a corresponding transaction.
