Red Wings' Petr Mrazek: Replaced by Jimmy Howard in loss

Mrazek was pulled from Friday's eventual loss to the Blue Jackets after allowing three goals on 17 shots in 33:28 between the pipes. Jimmy Howard, making his first appearance after missing the last six games with a groin injury, came on in relief to finish the game.

Analysis:

Mrazek left in the second period after surrendering the first career goal from rookie center Lukas Sedlak. Before that transpired, the Czech tender was fired up upon leaving the crease to cover the puck thinking there would be a stoppage of play, but the play continued and Brandon Dubinsky was able to tuck in a rebound once Mrazek frantically tried to cover the cage. With Howard back in action, Mrazek will be hard-pressed to earn more than a start or two each week.
