Rangers' Kevin Hayes: Scores late game-winner on power play

Hayes banged home a rebound in front of the net on the power play with just 1:09 remaining Thursday, sending the Rangers to a 2-1 win over the Jets.

Analysis:

He'd gone without a point for five straight games and hadn't yet scored a power-play goal, so this was a huge tally for Hayes as well as the Rangers' recently scuffling man advantage. Hayes put four shots on net, which is nice to see, but we're still looking from some more consistency in that regard -- he turns out these occasional nice shot totals, but never puts a few such games together. The 24-year-old has taken four or more shots only four times in 28 games this year, and yet he has 20 points.
