Rangers' Antti Raanta: Light workload in win over Jets

Raanta faced just 18 shots against the Jets on Thursday, stopping 17 of them en route to a 2-1 win.

Analysis:

Other than Mark Scheifele's goal right around the game's halfway mark, the Jets couldn't beat Raanta, but they also didn't get a whole lot of high-quality chances against him. The Finnish backup has thoroughly better numbers than starter Henrik Lundqvist, having gone 6-1-0 with a .932 save percentage in limited action. Lundqvist will more than likely be back in there for the second of back-to-backs Friday, but we could see Raanta start picking up a few more starts than he has in the past; when he does, he makes for a solid fantasy play behind a strong Rangers team.
