Capitals' Aaron Ness: Promoted to big club

The Capitals recalled Ness from AHL Hershey on Thursday.

Analysis:

Matt Niskanen (upper body) didn't travel with the Capitals for Friday's game in Buffalo, so Ness will round out the team's blue-line depth for that contest. The 26-year-old defender will likely be sent back to the minors as soon as Niskanen is cleared to return to game action.
