Rangers' Henrik Lundqvist: Getting breather Thursday

Lundqvist, who will cede the net to backup Antti Raanta on Thursday against Winnipeg, has only a .902 save percentage to go with a 3-4-1 record in his last eight outings.

Analysis:

"I think, like he would probably tell you, that he's got another level, that he's got more consistency to give us," coach Alain Vigneault said. "He's our top player, you know. He's been doing it for quite a few years." Fantasy owners likely feel the same way, as Lundqvist's current .912 save mark is tied for his career low (equaling his final figure from 2007-08), while his 2.55 GAA is a downgrade from last year's career-worst 2.48. At 34 years old, he should still have a good bit of gas left in the tank, but it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Rangers ease his workload back from last season's 64 starts.
