Flames' Tyler Wotherspoon: Promoted to NHL

Wotherspoon was called up from the minors Thursday.

Analysis:

Wotherspoon has yet to suit up in an NHL contest this season, but he may crack the lineup Thursday against Arizona. The defenseman is having a solid AHL campaign, as he leads Stockton in rating (plus-15) to go with a goal and five helpers over 19 games. Calgary is 21st in the league in goals allowed per game at 2.83 and could certainly use a stoic defender on the blue line.
