Capitals' Paul Carey: Reassigned to minors

Carey was returned to AHL Hershey on Tuesday, Tarik El-Bashir of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.

Analysis:

Carey was limited to 6:58 of ice time in Monday's overtime win over the Sabres, and he didn't have the finest showing, failing to appear on the scoresheet with a minus-2 rating. Depending on the ongoing rehab progress of T.J. Oshie (shoulder), the Capitals could roll with Brett Connolly for Wednesday's game against the Bruins; it's unlikely they bring back Carey in the near term.
