Penguins' Matt Murray: Closes out Monday mayhem
Murray recorded his eighth win in nine decisions Monday, stopping 17 of 18 shots in a relief effort against the Senators.
Analysis:
With Pittsburgh giving Marc-Andre Fleury the nod in three straight games, it would be understandable if Murray showed a little rust. He didn't, however, and his strong goaltending helped the Pens turn a two-goal deficit into an 8-5 victory. As a result, Murray will almost surely get the start Thursday in Florida against the Panthers. The 22-year-old has played well away from PPG Paints Arena, going 4-2-1 with a 1.87 GAA and .932 save percentage.
