Stars' Kari Lehtonen: Looking to stop Avalanche

Lehtonen will start in goal Saturday night against host Colorado, Drew Spevak of Denver Sports 760 reports.

Analysis:

If you say "Lehtonen" 10 times fast it sounds like "letting 'em in," and that's what he's done with high frequency this season. The 3.28 GAA over 14 appearances puts him on track for a career-worst rate in said category. Lehtonen posted a .906 save percentage in 43 regular-season contests last season, which is by no means great, but he salvaged his campaign with 25 wins in 2015-16. The Finnish backstop hasn't been so lucky this time around, having emerged victorious from only four outings in 14 attempts. With all that said, he does have a nice matchup against a Colorado club averaging a mere 2.23 goals per game -- 28th in the NHL.
