Analysis:

Sure, he's a bottom-six grinder whose main role is to provide energy and a checking presence, but a big fat goose egg in the points column is surprising for a guy who's produced at a rate of 0.38 points per game (99 in 261 games) over the last four seasons. However, Mitchell's ice time is down to 12:26 per game -- he's averaged at least 15:15 in each of those aforementioned four seasons -- which is further limiting his opportunities.
