Sabres' Robin Lehner: Day-to-day with hip injury

Lehner (hip) is day-to-day and may not dress for Thursday's game against the Rangers, The Buffalo News reports.

Analysis:

Lehner removed himself from Tuesday's contest against the Senators in the first period with what head coach Dan Byslma said is a minor hip ailment. Backup Anders Nilsson is expected to get the nod against the Blueshirts, while Lehner will test things out at morning skate Thursday to see whether he can suit up for bench duty. If he's not feeling up for it, the Sabres will likely recall Linus Ullmark from the AHL. It doesn't sound like the issue is serious, but it's worth noting that -- despite having only five wins in 16 appearances this year -- Lehner has been a steadying presence in the Buffalo net with a .921 save percentage, so his absence would surely be felt.
