Capitals' T.J. Oshie: Won't play next two games

Head coach Barry Trotz ruled T.J. Oshie (shoulder) will not play until next week, Isabelle Khurshudyan of The Washington Post reports.

Analysis:

Oshie has been out of action since sustaining the shoulder injury Nov. 18 against the Red Wings. With only two games this week against non-playoff teams, it makes sense that the Capitals would remain cautious with the 29-year-old winger's recovery. Andre Burakovsky should continue to take Oshie's place on the top line with Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov in the interim, but keep an eye on Oshie's practice participation later in the week to get a better sense of the timetable for his return.
