Flames' Johnny Gaudreau: Headed to IR

Gaudreau (finger) has been placed on injured reserve, per the NHL's official media site.

Analysis:

With Gaudreau expected to miss approximately five more weeks, the move to IR makes sense so that the Flames can be more flexible with their roster moves as their young star recovers from surgery. Johnny Hockey's numbers this season haven't quite lived up to what most were expecting from the third-year winger, but he'll look to get back on track when he returns in December or possibly January.
