Pickard was his team's best defender in this one, pulling out the victory despite the shots-against figure being a season high. The Avs had been losing 2-0 through the first two periods, only to storm back with three unanswered tallies in the third. Pickard, who moves to 4-1-0, remains one of the league's most valuable backups between the pipes.
