Capitals' Philipp Grubauer: Absorbs tough overtime loss in Columbus
Grubauer stopped 25 of 27 shots in a 2-1 overtime defeat at the hands of the Jackets on Tuesday.
Analysis:
The Caps' backup had a shutout going well into the third period, but he allowed rookie blueliner Zach Werenski to tie the game with 7:58 remaining, then gave up Cam Atkinson's winner only 37 seconds into overtime. It's a tough ending, but still a strong outing overall for Grubauer, who'll give the net back to Braden Holtby for Wednesday's start against Pittsburgh.
