Senators' Mike Condon: Shuts out Canucks in debut with new squad

Condon stopped all 27 shots he faced in his Senators debut Thursday, a 1-0 win over Vancouver.

Analysis:

That's one heck of a way to make an impression on your new teammates, although Vancouver's lackluster offense doesn't exactly offer a stiff challenge. After failing to hold down the fort with the Habs in Carey Price's absence last year, Condon bounced over to serve as a placeholder in Pittsburgh to start this season, then was dealt to Ottawa on Wednesday. He's got a better situation in his new digs, as Condon is suddenly the Sens' interim No. 1 netminder, but once Craig Anderson (personal) and Andrew Hammond (lower body) are ready to return, he'll likely find himself on the outs again. That said, it's unclear when that might occur, so Condon is set to enjoy primary starting duties (with some action split off to Chris Driedger) until further notice.
