Lightning's Ben Bishop: Starting in the crease Sunday

Bishop will patrol the crease Sunday against the Rangers, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.

Analysis:

Bishop was almost guaranteed to go Sunday after yielding Saturday's start to Andrei Vasilevskiy. While he's still received the lion's share of starts in goal this season, he's also been outperformed by his younger counterpart. It's quite possible Bishop will be moved at some point, but it appears the team will continue to utilize him more frequently unless that occurs. However, his grasp on the starting job could loosen if he can't improve on his 3.20 GAA and .891 save percentage through five games this season. He'll face another tough task Sunday against a Rangers club averaging 3.63 goals per game this season, but will at least avoid facing Henrik Lundqvist.
