Hurricanes' Andrej Nestrasil: Returns to lineup following benching

Nestrasil returned to the lineup Tuesday against the Red Wings and recorded his first point of the season -- an assist -- after missing the previous three games as a healthy scratch.

Analysis:

While it was nice to see Nestrasil finally hit the scoresheet, he also saw only 9:40 of ice time as part of the Canes' fourth line. Nestrasil's role on the team has been diminished this season following the offseason acquisition of Teuvo Teravainen and the arrival of rookie Sebastian Aho from the Finnish Elite League. After scoring a career-high 23 points in 55 games last season, it doesn't look like Nestrasil will come anywhere close to those totals this year, given his current fourth-line status. Look for replacements immediately.
