Ducks' Hampus Lindholm: Ends holdout, inks six-year extension

Lindholm signed a six-year contract extension with the Ducks on Thursday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports. The up-and-coming defenseman's contract has an average annual value of $5.25 million.

Analysis:

Lindholm was one of the last notable restricted free agents to end his holdout, with Jets rearguard Jacob Trouba still looking for a new deal. The Ducks currently rank sixth in the league at 2.38 goals against per game, which means they're solid defensively, but Lindholm figures to breathe life into an offense that's in the bottom third of the league at 2.63 goals per game. However, it may take him some time to get up to speed, as he's missed all of training camp and the first eight contests of the regular season.
