Rangers' Brandon Pirri: Pots two in win over Bruins

Pirri scored two goals -- one on the power play -- and skated a season-high 13:54 in Wednesday's 5-2 win over Boston.

Analysis:

The Rangers had a golden opportunity in front of them with recent AHL recall Zane McIntyre starting in goal for Boston, and they took advantage, with Pirri at the forefront. His first goal came late on a late-second-period man advantage, snapping a 2-2 tie and holding up as the game-winner. Pirri's ice time has been slowly rising over the last three games, and his power-play time's been healthy all along. He won't keep up his current pace (six points in seven games) if he can't win his way into more consistent even-strength minutes, but it still looks as though Pirri has finally found a home in New York after bouncing around the league the last few years.
