Senators' Philip Varone: Placed on waivers Sunday

Varone was put on waivers by Ottawa on Sunday, Bruce Garrioch of TSN reports.

Analysis:

If Varone clears waivers, he'll be assigned to AHL Binghamton. He has only played a handful of NHL games the last couple years, so he might not raise enough interest to be claimed.
