Red Wings' Justin Abdelkader: Won't play Saturday due to unspecified issue

Abdelkader will miss Saturday's game against the Sharks due to an undisclosed injury, Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Analysis:

This issue seemed to come out of nowhere, as Abdelkader looked healthy recording a goal and a season-high 17:55 of ice time in Friday's contest against the Predators. At any rate, general manager Ken Holland is calling him day-to-day with his next chance to return coming Tuesday night, when the Wings hit the road to face the Blues.
