Hurricanes' Ron Hainsey: TOI starting to decline

Hainsey is a minus-1 with no points through four games this season.

Analysis:

With 37 points last season, Hainsey more than doubled his offensive output from the year before, so it's nice to see the 35-year-old still has something left in the tank. That said, Hainsey's ice time is down this year (20:43 compared to 22:19 last season) as coach Bill Peters has started to lean a little more heavily on his core of young blueliners, especially Brett Pesce and Jacob Slavvin, both of whom have seen an uptick in their minutes this season. This does not bode well for Hainsey's offensive output going forward, so fantasy owners would be wise to govern their expectations accordingly.
